THE COLNE VALLEY FESTIVAL 2008 A CELEBRATION OF ACHIEVEMENT The Colne Valley Festival is an annual series of community charity fundraising events designed to raise money for the ongoing maintenance and conservation development of the Chappel Millennium Green. The festival is managed and promoted by the Chappel Millennium Green Trust.
Chappel Millennium Green is a superb 14 acre public open space located in Chappel village in the heart of the beautiful Colne Valley near Colchester in north Essex.
Chappel Millennium Green was set up as a Millennium Project and is managed as a registered charity by the Millennium Green Trust to allow open public access for all - in perpetuity. It incorporates open grassed areas, wheelchair accessible pathways, nature conservation areas, ponds, lakes and an abundance of tree varieties, river front access and unrivalled views of the historic Chappel Viaduct - a registered European monument and the second largest brick only built structure in the UK.
Used for a wide range of recreational activities including walking, running, relaxing, picnics, social gatherings, Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme training exercises, community events, village fetes and historic vehicle displays.

| The festival aims to encourage people of all ages to demonstrate achievement by taking part in one or more of our programme of events and exciting recreational activities planned throughout the year in the beautiful Colne Valley countryside in north Essex.
For many events, as well as being outdoors in the fresh air and taking exercise, you will be raising money for charity.
Our programme of events often include road running events, countryside bicyle rides and community fetes.
